Pincer Biotech is developing a first-in-class therapy to treat the most severe biomedical implant-associated infections (BIAIs). To date, no effective treatment is available for BIAIs. Moreover, given the increasing use of biomedical implants in our ageing population, these infections are rapidly becoming a major cause of disease burden despite their relatively low prevalence.
